The Execution Election?

Listening to R4 this morning there was an interview about the legal ramifications of Gitmo.

One of the interviewees said that the legal process could be in sync with external matters – ie elections!

Could it be that the Republicans want to take peoples minds off their failings by diverting their attention to whether or not the 6 that have been charged with masterminding 9/11 should be executed? `Oh look there are those lily-lilvered Democrats`.
