Back in Conservative Home lalaland…..

Just had a quick look at the fallout on Conservative Home and the Tories are pulling their hair out trying to understand the Lib Dem surge.

Harry Phibbs on his view of expenses says: `Three of the Tory targets are Lib Dem MPs in outer London seats – Susan Kramer in Richmond Park, Tom Brake in Carshalton and Wallington and Paul Burstow. They did not claim second home allowances. Then on the other hand this doesn’t qualify them as saints. Neither did the overwhelming majority of outer London MPs (inner London MPs aren’t entitled to them.) I think among the 19 Tory MPs there were only two who did – Andrew Rosindell and Theresa Villiers both of whom have constituencies right on the edge of London that probably are rather a long commute. By the way, before you feel too sorry for the London MPs not claiming, they get a London Costs Allowance (which Kramer, Brake and Burstow have all claimed) of £7,500 a year – in return for not claiming for a second home.

Er no Harry get your facts straight dear – Hornchurch MP James Brokenshire and Upminster MP Angela Watkinson also took second homes allowance buying property in Westminster. And the idea that the poor dears should have to travel ALL THE WAY FROM THE EDGE OF LONDON WHERE THEY HAVE `A LONG WAY TO COMMUTE` to go to Westminster – oh, the thought of it. Not like their constituents who also have to go by eek public transport to get to their jobs every day. What f`ing planet are these Tories on?

Let’s be clear – NO LONDON LIB DEM MP CLAIMED FOR THE ACA AND NO LIB DEM MP FLIPPED HOMES

  1. Don’t forget Eric Pickles from Brentwood – next stop after Epping and Romford – 18 miles in by train to Liverpool Street. Tory snouts were deep in this trough.
