After a spat with an Emily Thornberry (Islington South & Finsbury Labour candidate) supporter on OUTeverywhere I reflected on why I actually HATE her. I don’t actually HATE Labour MPs – we’re all people after all and although I disagree with their policies you can tell when someone’s good in committee or a good caseworker. As our indefatigable PPC for the constituency, Bridget Fox, said – Emily’s predecessor Chris Smith WAS a good local MP and brave to boot.
So we come back to Emily Thornberry. Is it her restrained acid voice when talking about the Lib Dems on the Westminster Hour? Is it the way she trots out new Labour axioms in machine-like fashion? Or is the fact that she reminds me of everything that is WRONG with new Labour? Their failure to question the thinking process is summed up by Gordon Brown today `Brown admits he made mistakes about bank regulations`.
So that’s alright then – let’s just reward failure.
Then I remember this
Sums it all up really
