Agitators and Cowley Street should be rightly proud of themselves at the amount of exposure we’ve gained by sheer fair minded bolshiness. It had to be done as a matter of natural justice and the right to hear the third narrative.
Question Time is unfortunately not in the gift of the BBC and we await with interest what will happen when war finally breaks out.
One of the final battles will be with the Today programme and specifically the much coveted 8:10 slot. It’s not enough for us to have fair coverage – it also has to be fairly allocated in terms of audience share. I think the most ridiculous argument I heard from the BBC was `don’t worry Nick Clegg was on HardTalk!`.
Today at 8:10 was a sparring match between Ken Clarke and Liam Byrne. Today needs to share that out between the three main parties with perhaps a nationalist on once a week and one of the cons/labs kicked off.
