The Tories miss a trick

Trust the two main parties to take an idea and not think it through. This time there’s the shares for the banks as a `reward for the British taxpayer`. My view is why go round the houses when you can REALLY help those on lowest incomes by raising the tax threshold or splitting the money between that and extra money on education and training to lift opportunities.

It really tells you a lot about the Tories that they want to go back to the 80’s using a complicated method instead of just using simple ways of doing things – like raising the thresholds.

Sorry Dave – it’s just a gimmick.

If you really want to help the working poor – cut out the middleman and just give money directly.
