The question was raised `should electricians that have not requested clearance from the ISA be allowed to work in the school in an ad hoc basis`.
Roger Singleton of the Independent Standards Authority was asked whether or not there’d be pressure for all tradespeople to be cleared as some would start using it as a marketing wedge in these recessionary times for gaining work.
Two questions arise:
1. If it does provide pressure what does it say about a voluntary ID card scheme
2. Why is it Roger Singleton answering the questions? It’s LABOUR policy – should they not now invite a minister to answer these questions? I’m fed up of heads of quangos being used as human shields for difficult questions that Labour ministers don’t want to answer. Or is it that they need to justify their jobs?
