St Helens Council remains in Lib Dem hands

Well done to Cllr Dave Kent for winning the Moss Bank by-election in St Helens. This has meant that the Council remains in Lib Dem hands and is a vindication of the way the Lib Dems run the Council.

Result:

Lib Dems 1480 = 53.90

Lab            1011 = 36.82

Con             111 = 4.04

Grn               73  = 2.66

Ind               71 = 2.59

Maj = 469 or 17.08%

Turnout – 31.86%

R vote = LD 18%, Lab 11%, Con 1.3%, Grn 0.8%, Ind 0.8% (2 in 11, 1 in 9, 1 in 80, 1 in 80)

  1. an 11% swing to Labour in the same seat since May last year.Any further vindications like that and the LDs will be out on their ear next May.
