If Brown goes next week it would surely necessitate a General Election?
First, there would be a time when Government is rudderless with an election (of just the Labour MPs or the whole of Labour) for a new leader all taking place with a backdrop of a constitutional crisis and a dishevelled economy. It would seem the most arrogant and irrelevant act yet of a Government.
Of course, they could elect Johnson nem con yet that would seem like another coronation – again with a backdrop of a constitutional crisis when they are seen to be adding to it or at least acting in the most shameless fashion.
With all this there would be a huge cacophony of sound in Britain `we want a General Election`
