Down with the `ancien regime`

The atmosphere in British politics currently is one of decay and transformation. It’s like the breaking down of an `ancien regime` with the `royal courts` going out of favour with the masses and those same courts trying to defend their positions against new tramlines of thought that they can neither understand or control.

Whether it’s Labour placemen and women, white paper `lecturers`, corrupt bankers and MPs, Tory old codgers the whole overhanging edifice is starting to come tumbling down.

Everyone else is just watching to see where the pieces will end up and what will be built in its place.

Will the 4th June be the first clues as to this transformation?
