Is Cruickshank Crucial?

I’ve been reading about the Cruickshank report into banking and, after hearing Vince mention it at regional conference, wonder whether there is any traction in tying Tories/Labour into a poor light on the issue of banking reform and whether we come out of it well.

It’s the joining of the dots – as a lot of it seems to deal with the service a bank customer receives whereas I want to know about how it can be linked to taxpayers bailing out banks.

Any ideas?



  1. I don’t think the reform being considered by Congress goes far enough because I don’t think they (and we) know the extent to which bankers will go to get their way. BTW, I recommend the following:
