In any other organisation someone that was being investigated by the Police for colluding with active paedophiles with disabled children would be suspended on `gardening leave` at the very least. Why don’t the Catholic Church act and say that what has happened is utterly appalling that their leader allowed a known abuser of disabled children to carry on working including at disabled childrens homes.

If the boot were on the other foot you can bet your bottom dollar (and the Catholic church has many millions) they’d be asking that a politician should have the whip withdrawn. Say for example that it were a gay MP found in flagrante inside the grounds of a Catholic school at night. They’d be hounding the guy.

So why are we so soft on the Catholic Church.

It’s them that castigated Gays as all paedophiles for years – THEM!

It’s time they made a FULL APOLOGY to the LGBT communities and a full apology to the nation.

One thing’s for sure – he won’t be invited to `thought for the day` again!

A class action is being taken organised by Lambda USA (LGBT rights in US group).

Particularly pertinent is the allegation of anti-gay slurs and that there were no arrests.

I too saw the twitter on FB from Jo regarding her being dumped from QT. Does anyone know why? What’s important is that we have both a Liberal Democrat on the show and for the BBC to tighten up its act and not dump busy people 48 hrs before the show.

Also, who is the replacement?

When they haven’t rehearsed what they were going to say even when they’re an expert.

I have to say I cringed at Lord Oakeshott’s performance on the Daily Politics. I’m not saying everyone should be perfect (and we all have our off days particularly me) yet this actually gave LESS value than if he hadn’t had gone on the show.

If the issue is complicated (or if there is a change of direction) the best thing is to state it all at the start and see if there are any questions that the hosts have to put and stick to the first answer like  a crab clinging to a rock. The answers seemed to change by the second and Lord Oakeshott looked terrified at the end of it.

Is there media training for people like Lord Oakeshott?

I was typing an angry complaint regarding the exclusion of a Liberal Democrat from today’s You and yours prog on unemployment when I heard someone read out a spiel from what could only have come from Cowley Street.

I am still sending one asking WHO made the decision to just have two parties on the show and will they consider as an automatic decision to have three.

Just listening to the employment edition of `You and yours` and we’re back to high unemployment particularly with young people. Tales of a young person spending all her time for 6 months in Sunderland ringing companies in the Yellow Pages, knocking on doors in the town centre and going to Job Centre.

I feel that their parents will be having something to say about that in 2010.

I refer to the dead tree media  who seem to spin and turn without saying what Clegg actually said or meant.

From now on we shouldn’t say anything on it apart from that unless we ADD `have you asked both Labour and the Tories that question?`

If they haven’t he should just say `I refuse to answer that question until you do`

Often our party operates only a rudimentary campaign (if at all) in `black hole seats` – painfully reflected on the web. Labour now face the same problem.

It’s really simple. Activists have their own lives to lead and one half-hearted attempt isn’t going to change anything. More profitable for these people to do the gardening or see the grandchildren. You have to be peculiarly driven to campaign effectively in such places.

Is this phenomenon now happening in places where Labour used to hold sway or even have the MP?

In St Albans there’s a massive issue about First Capital Connect’s commuter `service` into London. Put bluntly, it’s become crap.

Thus, both the Tory MP, Anne Main and our own PPC Sandy Walkington are driving the issue forward through the media positively reflected on the web.

What are Labour talking about? Here’s what

Not only are the other sites sharper and easier on the eye they also cover what’s going on right now.

The real message from this stark contrast is that it looks as if Labour have given up in St Albans – the big fight will be between the Lib Dems and the Tories.

I notice his blog posting today.
